SCRIPTURES:   Luke 10:38-42; Matthew 11:28-29; Psalms 46:10; Isaiah 58:11;

BOTTOM LINE:  MARGIN is the amount available beyond what is Necessary.  What kind of MARGIN do we have?

QUESTION:  What happens when MARGIN decreases in our lives?

DOWNLOAD:    MARGIN is the amount available beyond what is necessary.  It’s that amount that we have left over beyond what we have to have.  I might add to Andy’s definition … MARGIN is the difference between what we HAVE and what we NEED.

If we have 30 minutes to get somewhere and it takes 20 minutes to get there, we have 10 minutes of MARGIN.  If we have $100.00 and we have $80.00 worth of bills, we have $20 worth of MARGIN.  The difference between what we HAVE and what we NEED.

1. When margin decreases, your stress increases.

2. As your margin decreases, your relational intimacy, it also decreases.

APPLICATION:      Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-29 … 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened …… all who are stressed out . all who are overwhelmed … all who can’t seem to get it all done … come to me Single parents who aren’t sure you can make it another day … come to me Business owners who feel like your business is about to go under … Come to me mom who feels like you have no MARGIN for yourself … come to me all whose who are overwhelmed and feel insignificant if they’re not busy all the time … come to me all of us Jesus said …

“… and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me [that’s what we’re going to try to do … to learn from Jesus here], for I am gentle and humble in heart [and you will find what?], and you will find REST for your souls.”

That’s where we’re going to start this week … Would you try to spend 5 minutes a day this week where you don’t produce ANYTHING?  Don’t go into it w/ any pre-set thoughts or ideas, just REST in God’s presence and listen.
