What is a disciple?  A disciple is someone who studies and imitates their master/mentor.

What do disciples look like? Jesus

What do disciples of Jesus do?

  1. We deny ourselves.
  2. We take up our cross.
  3. We follow Him.

 

 

APPLICATION:

John 15:5 states: “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 

We develop intimacy by abiding in Him.

  1. We grow in Biblical knowledge.
  2. We develop Christ-like character.
  3. We serve sacrificially.

 We develop intimacy by being in constant communion/fellowship with Him.

  1. We learn to discern His still small voice.
  2. We learn trust His peace.

 

How do we make disciples?

  1. A disciple has a mentor and mentors others.
  2. A disciple shares their faith story

 

How do we know if we are a disciple of Jesus?

John 15:5:  “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” 

A disciple bears fruit.
