The crucifixion of Christ shows us how awful wrongdoing is, and it assures us that the price for it has been paid. His crucifixion gives us evidence that we have been forgiven, and his resurrection gives us evidence that he is our salvation. God has come to us and saved us because we could not save ourselves. We need this kind of salvation, and the gospel of Jesus Christ teaches that God has given us what we need.
That’s the good news, and we can trust in the finished work of God, not in the flimsy goodness of human beings.
What must I do to be saved? There is only one thing left for us to do; believe God or not believe God. Jesus said, “He that believes on me has everlasting life.” (John 6:47) Right now, why not trust Him as your Savior from sin and you can know that you have eternal life.
Where does HCC stand on Homosexuality?
However, we do not elevate it to a higher or greater Sin than any other Sin, including all the other Sexual Sins (Pornography, Sex outside of Marriage, Co-Habitation, violating the Marriage Covenant w/ someone else, etc…).
We would welcome a person(s) who are walking in that lifestyle as a place of worship, growth, fellowship, etc… , but also would hold the same Leadership Standards as other blatant sins for anyone in our fellowship seeking to serve/lead.
For example, while we would not allow someone participating in a Homosexual Lifestyle to serve as a Leader, we also would not allow a couple living together to do so either? Of if we knew someone was addicted to Pornography … Or Alcohol … Or Physical Abuse at home. You name it … when we become aware, we address it in LOVE, w/ God’s Word, in hopes of allowing God to use the Body and His Truth to bring repentance and healing, and then we’ve seen people re-position into Leadership areas too.
CORE VALUES: What Matters Most
Authentic Acceptance – “It’s ok not to be ok” … welcome home!
Abundant Living & Generosity – Abundant life “In-Christ” coupled w/ Grace Giving
“Community” Ownership, Empowerment & Commitment – – A Passionate compassion for our COMMUNITY as we are the Hands and Feet of Jesus
HCC is a place for anyone, wherever you are on your spiritual journey. God has called us to the ministry of extending grace, acceptance, and serve those in our COMMUNITY who are broken, hurting, and far from God, & CONNECTING them w/ one another and w/ God.
