Why Missions

DNA is essential to any organization, and serving as the Hands & Feet of Jesus is part of the DNA at HCC. Constantly, we are reminded in God’s Word of His Mission in this world and how He chose to use “US” as a part of that Mission. While we often begin that process in meeting a “need,” it’s also essential that we remember, we are to be a Distribution Center of the Gospel and not just a Social Injustice Agency.

Missional living will provide opportunities for us to be His Hands and Feet, and to make sure those He collides our lives with know that God loves them and so do we. You will be reminded often of our need to be intentional in discipling our children and families thru serving as God’s Distribution Center of the Gospel together.

That includes serving in our neighborhood … workplace … schools … sports teams … locally w/ Ministry Partnerships … and YES, even stamping a Passport every 3 years in the name of Jesus.

ORPHAN/FOSTER/ADOPT CARE Ministry Team Opportunities

We love our partnership w/ The South Texas Alliance for Orphans and the Vision/Passion to see the Foster Crisis abolished by 2025.  God has called His Church to care for the Widow and the Orphan, and there are some incredible opportunities coming in the weeks ahead where you can be a part of God’s Hands & Feet.

  • FOSTER/ADOPT MINISTRY FAIR –  9/21 following worship in the Annex.  Come find out about ALL the various ways you can jump on an HCC team as we partner together to love God’s Children.  Register HERE so we can have lunch ready for you (your family).
  • Pastor’s Gathering– 9/25 from 12-2:00pm.Who is invited? Any pastor or ministry leader in a local church who wants to see their church engage more deeply in caring for vulnerable children and families. Whether you’re already involved or just getting started—this room is for you.

    • South Texas Alliance for Orphans Gala:  Saturday, September 13th @ 6:00 pm.You can find all kinds of Information HERE, but HCC has some tables and we’d love for you to join us.  Please contact Ken at  210-845-5230 to reserve your spot.

     

          Snack-Pack 4 Kids Ministry Team

          Ed & Amy Shannon are leading our Ministry Team and Partnership w/ Wetmore, Northern Hills, AND Fox Run Elementary Schools.  This teams serves on Thursday night (at Wetmore & Fox Run) & Friday morning (at Northern Hills), and delivery takes 30-45 minutes total.

          What a powerful ministry to feed just under 200 children for the weekend every single week as a Team, and you only serve one Thursday/Friday every 8 weeks or so.
